The Family Investment Administration
The Family Investment Program designed to provide assistance & supportive services that remove obstacles from the paths of families with dependent children as they travel towards self-sufficiency, stability, and independence. Major programs include:
TEMPORARY CASH ASSISTANCE helps families make the transition from dependence
to self-sufficiency through assistance and employment.
WELFARE AVOIDANCE GRANTS to help a family in crisis from having to depend upon
long term public assistance by providing financial help.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE to provide support for evictions or an imminent utility
turn-off.
LONG-TERM CARE helps families with the expenses associated with nursing homes.
PURCHASE OF CARE (POC) IS CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE provided by approved day care
providers for eligible employed customers.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE provides comprehensive medical and other health-related care
to families and disabled adults without children.
FOOD STAMPS increases the purchasing power of eligible households so they may
obtain a more nutritious diet.
TEMPORARY DISABILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TDAP) provides a monthly stipend
to qualified disabled adults, without children.
