The Rape Crisis Program is funded through the State General funds and Sexual Assualt Prevention funds from the Centers for Disease Control. Services are provided through a network of community based rape crisis programs and are available in every jurisdiction in Maryland.
These funds are used to provide safe refuge and support services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Services include a 24-hour hotline, safe accommodations and board for victims and their children, therapeutic counseling, abuser intervention programs, legal counseling and court accompaniment.
These funds are used to provide services to adult and child victims of rape and other sexual offenses. Services include 24-hours hotline, counseling, medical accompaniment, and assistance in accessing and other support services such as legal assistance, as needed.
There are also funds designated for specific prevention efforts throughout the State. These efforts include presentation to community groups, billboards, pamphlets and radio and television public service announcements.
