Program Available in: Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, Montgomery County, & Talbot County.
Eligibility:
The Young Fathers Employment Program is an initiative to eliminate barriers for unwed or expectant fathers and mothers so that they can obtain the necessary educational and employment opportunities that they need to provide financial and emotional support to their children and families. The goal of the Young Fathers Employment Program is to provide parents with the necessary skills and resources to facilitate any needed behavior changes that would enable them to support themselves and their families; thereby, breaking the cycle of welfare dependency.
Must be a non-custodial parent, residing in jurisdiction(s) where program is located from at least one of the following populations:
- Fathers whose children receive or have received Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Fathers whose children are currently in the state welfare system
- Fathers who are at-risk of becoming obligated to pay child support
- Fathers who are incarcerated and within 90 days of release date
- Fathers who are ex-offenders
