The article highlights the tremendous progress DHR and the O’Malley-Brown administration have made over the last five years to find permanent families for as many children as possible. Thanks to our Place Matters initiative, today there are fewer children in our care than at any time since the department started keeping electronic records 25 years ago. While our work is far from done, this article shows the difference we are making in people’s lives.
