Welcome to Ted’s Take, my new _ and official _ blog!
At DHR, we take pride in the important work we do, and we are very fortunate to be engaged in the kind of work that can change people’s lives in a very positive way. Through our local departments of social services in each Maryland county and Baltimore City, we assist people in need by administering a wide range of public assistance programs. We help low-income people become self-sufficient through employment opportunities, job training and educational support. We also work with families and children in crises to ensure that children are in loving and safe homes. We ensure families receive the assistance and support they need during tough times, and that court-ordered child support payments are made and delivered expeditiously.
I’d like this blog to be a forum for the civil exchange of ideas on various human services issues. I encourage you to regularly leave comments and share your ideas for how DHR can best ensure we are meeting the needs of Maryland’s most vulnerable families and individuals.
